Description

Delightful White Cake brings classic comfort to dessert tables with its pillowy layers of pure, cloud-like perfection. Creamy frosting and delicate crumb promise sweet moments of pure indulgence you’ll savor with each tender bite.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups (190 g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup (200 g) white sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup (113 g) butter
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) milk

Flavoring:

  • 2 teaspoons (10 ml) vanilla extract

Leavening Agent:

  • 1 3/4 teaspoons baking powder

Instructions

  1. Prepare the oven by heating to 350F (175C) and prepare a 9×9 inch pan with grease and flour, or line a muffin tin with paper liners.
  2. Using an electric mixer, thoroughly blend sugar and butter until creamy and pale. Incorporate eggs individually, ensuring complete integration after each addition, then gently mix in vanilla extract.
  3. Sift together flour and baking powder in a separate bowl. Gradually fold dry ingredients into the creamed mixture, mixing until just combined. Slowly pour milk and blend until batter achieves a silky, uniform consistency.
  4. Transfer batter into the prepared pan, spreading evenly with a spatula to ensure smooth surface and consistent depth.
  5. Place pan in preheated oven and bake for 30-40 minutes. Test cake’s doneness by gently pressing the center – it should spring back immediately and appear golden around the edges. A toothpick inserted in the middle should emerge clean.

Notes

  • Ensure butter and eggs are at room temperature for smoother mixing and better cake texture.
  • Sifting flour and baking powder together prevents clumping and creates a lighter, more even cake crumb.
  • For a dairy-free version, substitute milk with almond milk or coconut milk without compromising the cake’s structure.
  • Avoid overmixing the batter to prevent a tough, dense cake; mix just until ingredients are combined.
