Description

Savory hoisin beef noodles dance with bold Asian flavors, combining tender meat and silky strands in one irresistible dish. Spicy, sweet, and utterly satisfying, you’ll find this meal transports your senses straight to street food paradise.

Ingredients

Scale

Beef:

  • 1 pound (454 grams) beef (flank steak, sirloin, or ribeye), thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil

Sauce and Seasonings:

  • 1/4 cup hoisin sauce
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon sriracha or chili flakes
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger
  • 1/4 cup water

Noodles and Vegetables:

  • 8 ounces (226 grams) noodles (lo mein, rice noodles, or spaghetti)
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup bell peppers, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup carrots, julienned
  • 1/2 cup snap peas or broccoli florets
  • 3 green onions, sliced
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Prepare the beef by combining it with soy sauce, cornstarch, and sesame oil in a mixing bowl. Allow the meat to marinate for 10-15 minutes while assembling remaining ingredients.
  2. Create the flavor-packed sauce by whisking hoisin sauce, soy sauce, oyster sauce, rice vinegar, honey, sriracha, minced garlic, grated ginger, and water in a separate bowl. Set aside for later use.
  3. Cook noodles in boiling water according to package directions until al dente. Drain thoroughly and reserve.
  4. Heat oil in a large wok or skillet over high heat (around 400°F). Sear marinated beef in a single layer for 2-3 minutes until edges turn golden brown and crispy. Transfer meat to a clean plate.
  5. In the same cooking vessel, stir-fry bell peppers, carrots, and snap peas for 2-3 minutes, maintaining their vibrant color and crisp texture.
  6. Reintroduce beef to the pan, pour prepared sauce over the ingredients, and toss to ensure even coating. Add cooked noodles and gently mix for 1-2 minutes until everything is heated through.
  7. Finish the dish by garnishing with chopped green onions and toasted sesame seeds. Serve immediately while hot and enjoy a restaurant-quality meal prepared at home.

Notes

  • Choose a tender cut like sirloin or flank steak for the most succulent and quick-cooking beef.
  • Substitute rice noodles or whole wheat noodles for gluten-free or healthier alternatives that work perfectly with this sauce.
  • Adjust sriracha amount to customize heat level, making the dish mild for kids or extra fiery for spice lovers.
  • Replace beef with firm tofu, tempeh, or mixed mushrooms to create a delicious plant-based version of this stir-fry.
