Description

Hearty french dip sliders deliver a mouthwatering twist on classic sandwiches with tender beef and melted cheese. Savory au jus complements these mini sandwiches, promising a delightful bite you’ll crave again and again.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb roast beef (thinly sliced)
  • 12 slider buns
  • 12 slices provolone cheese
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 tbsp (15 ml) Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp (15 ml) Dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 packet au jus mix
  • 2 cups (480 ml) water

Instructions

  1. Heat the oven to 350F (175C) and position a rack in the center.
  2. Carefully split slider buns horizontally, creating top and bottom halves, and place bottom pieces in a baking dish.
  3. Arrange thin slices of roast beef evenly across each bun bottom, ensuring complete coverage.
  4. Top the roast beef with a single slice of provolone cheese, perfectly centered on each slider.
  5. Cover the cheese layer with corresponding bun tops, creating compact sandwich units.
  6. Create a flavor-enhancing glaze by whisking melted butter, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in a small mixing bowl.
  7. Using a pastry brush, generously coat the entire slider surface with the prepared glaze, ensuring even distribution.
  8. Securely cover the baking dish with aluminum foil, creating a sealed environment for initial baking.
  9. Bake covered for 15 minutes, allowing flavors to meld and cheese to begin melting.
  10. Remove foil and return sliders to the oven for an additional 5-7 minutes until tops turn golden and cheese becomes fully molten.
  11. While sliders bake, prepare au jus by combining packet mix with water in a saucepan, bringing to a boil, then reducing to a gentle simmer for 3-5 minutes.
  12. Transfer hot sliders to a serving platter and accompany with warm au jus for dipping.

Notes

  • Pick lean, high-quality roast beef for maximum flavor and tenderness in your sliders.
  • Toast bun tops slightly before assembling to prevent sogginess and add extra crunch.
  • Replace regular buns with gluten-free versions for a celiac-friendly alternative.
  • Customize the au jus with a splash of red wine or beef broth for deeper, richer taste profile.
