Description

Creamy crockpot ravioli lasagna brings Italian comfort to your dinner table with minimal effort. Layers of cheese-filled pasta, rich marinara, and melted mozzarella create a hearty meal you’ll crave again and again.

Ingredients

Scale

Protein:

  • 1 pound ground beef or turkey

Pasta and Cheese:

  • 1 package (25 ounces / 709 grams) frozen cheese ravioli
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Sauce and Seasonings:

  • 1 (24 ounces / 680 grams) jar marinara sauce
  • 1 (14.5 ounces / 411 grams) can diced tomatoes, undrained
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 teaspoons dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. Brown ground meat in a skillet over medium heat, crumbling into small pieces and draining excess fat.
  2. Sauté diced onion and garlic in the same skillet for 2-3 minutes until fragrant and translucent.
  3. Combine marinara sauce, diced tomatoes, herbs, salt, and pepper in the skillet, simmering for 5-10 minutes to meld flavors.
  4. Thoroughly coat the crockpot interior with cooking spray to prevent sticking.
  5. Create a thin sauce base layer at the bottom of the crockpot.
  6. Arrange a single layer of frozen cheese ravioli directly over the sauce.
  7. Spread half the ricotta cheese evenly across the ravioli layer.
  8. Sprinkle half the mozzarella cheese over the ricotta.
  9. Repeat sauce, ravioli, ricotta, and mozzarella layers to create a second complete level.
  10. Generously top the final layer with grated Parmesan cheese.
  11. Cover crockpot and slow cook on low temperature for 4-5 hours until ravioli becomes tender and cheese melts completely.

Notes

  • Ground turkey or chicken can replace beef for a lighter, lower-fat version that’s still packed with protein and flavor.
  • Spraying the crockpot with cooking spray prevents sticking and makes cleanup super easy, saving you time and hassle.
  • Replace meat with plant-based crumbles or sautéed mushrooms to create a delicious meatless alternative that’s equally satisfying.
  • Feel free to experiment with different cheese varieties like provolone or fontina to customize the dish’s taste and texture to your preference.
